Need a name of a local electrician? Or plumber? Or someone to fix your roof? Call us! At Home In Darien makes referrals to vetted professionals for property and home maintenance services, providing seniors with reliable references and peace of mind. As the list is constantly being updated and improved with member input, please call our office to get a referral.
Resource Services
We don’t have all the answers (or provide every service) but we try to find them! At Home In Darien works closely with other organizations in Darien to help identify and provide information regarding a variety of potential resources for seniors and their families. We are often able to provide advice and support to connect seniors to access to broader assistance within the community.
Some Additional Local Resources Include:
The Darien Senior Program at Mather Center is where seniors of the community gather for fellowship and useful learning pursuits. A hot, nutritious lunch is served Monday through Friday for a cost of $5.00, with a same day reservation made by 11:15 AM, please note the menu is now posted online. Complimentary coffee, teas and doughnuts are served Monday through Friday. The center is located adjacent to Town Hall at 2 Renshaw Road and is open from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM or call at 203-656-7490.
Darien Human Services offers a variety of services and supports to the residents of Darien. The staff has a wide range of experience and training in the area of Human Services and is available to assist residents either by phone, e-mail or in their office at Town Hall. Please call for more information or to make an appointment. Visit at Town Hall Room 109, Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm or call at 203-656-7328.
The Darien Library, in addition to its collection of literature, offers a wide variety of events and recreational activities. The library also offers a home delivery service of books, movies, magazines and audiobooks for those who cannot visit the Library in person.
The Darien Community Association website provides information about programs and activities that are open to the public, DCA groups and volunteering opportunities.
